Yes, You're still gonna get a small increase in power because the stock downpipe is restrictive and inefficient and yes without an o2 spacer you will get a code eventually with some downpipes, but remember CATTED=more low end due to better backpressure, CATLESS=higher end power due to loss of back pressure but you get a deeper tone. Removing it or changing it for a higher flowing cat would give you a better flowing exhaust, hence more power. If you're going with an aftermarket downpipe down the road and end up with the Borla then a good resonator like a Vibrant is a must have.
